// Handmade at Amazon is arriving soon! Etsy death knell? #pleaseprime
// Nicky Hilton's wedding dress is fabulous. Who would have predicted a Hilton would get married in a turtleneck? It's both more fashion-y and more modest than Kate Middleton's (the former winner in the high-society-London-wedding-that-required-long-sleeves) - a curious combination. It's a direct style descendant of Grace Kelly's wedding dress, the most divine ever created. No dress has ever come close to that perfection. Nicky Hilton is also no Grace Kelly... and Paris is 35 years old?!
// Tiny tendrils of my cucumber plant r e a c h i n g for the trellis. The next day another wrapped tendril (vinelet? I need to read of the many small space gardening books* I have checked out) appeared!

Am I a gardener at heart? Is a new hobby, er, blossoming?
// A Pachelbal. I blended a watermelon with a squirt of agave and lime juice and poured through a sieve and into molds. Luckily she doesn't know what a popsicle really should be like -- radioactive in color, synthetic in every way. Lots of great recipes are floating around now for National Popsicle Week. As a person with sensitive teeth I can't even bear to watch someone chomping into a popsicle (CRINGE!) but I'm happy to make them.
// A recent Oprah magazine featured "15 Women Writers Discuss Their Favorite Overlooked Books". I checked Carson McCuller's Reflections in a Golden Eye immediately upon reading this description (wowza, now I have to read Karen Russell herself) - it's a quick and spooky read. The library's copy was this 1941 first edition, which was fun. I plan to work my way through most of the list -- next up are The Summer Book, Lunar Attractions, and The Lists of the Past.
