New Year's

New Year's is always a quiet one - I usually work a normal day on NYE and Luke has had a gig for all the recent ones. The girls and I watched a movie and went to bed at the normal time. (We had more fun than it looks here!)

Annual New Year's Day brunch! No theme this year ... I just couldn't top last year's Dream of the 90s aka Marky Mark and the Funky Brunch.

If you come to my house I'm going to take pictures of you because I love you!

After the party I went to spin class and returned to see some intense games of Uno in action ...

Ready for you, 2020!

Christmas 2019

This Christmas... was the Barbie Christmas. Christmas Eve Eve we assembled the dream house.

Matching jammies for Christmas Eve

Christmas morning daze. My sister Elise made her annual breakfast dish, an orange ring - a citrusy monkey bread - and we had bacon and eggs and lots of coffee.

the reveal! (Clementine is wearing what I knew would be one of her favorite gifts - a TWO PIECE SWIMMING SUIT!)

Isla opens her lion costume.

terror ensues!

New chess set.

It was an unseasonably warm day and Clem clamored for "summer clothes!"

With Luke's help she set up a shaded chair in the front yard

... and proceeded to color in the middle of the yard. She added a beret of mine to her ensemble because "I'm an artist".

Elise and I made a bunch of great food during their stay, but homemade pizza might have been the best!

Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving this year, with a little help from Beast BBQ!

I made a lemon meringue pie and Jena and Cody brought rhubarb and blueberry.

Time traveling twins!

Ava spent the night - a sleepover the girls were so excited about - and Josie made a little nest for Ava:

Ava curled herself into the box but I didn't want her to sleep like that; I put her in bed next to Clementine but then Josie felt left out and moved herself over. I thought they would be up for hours but a few minutes later they were sound asleep:

Bacon, eggs, and English muffins for breakfast.

Dad-ing outside.

Clementine liked their door photos so much she drew one of them:

Black Friday: the leftover edition!

white elephant gag gifts, including the pie-in-the-face

Clementine, so enamored of Sam's fiancee she practically sat in her lap for an hour
