30 Days with a Grateful Heart: Day 2

Bob might be your uncle but he's my dad.

My father possesses many wonderful qualities (compassion, selflessness, completely without vanity) but lately I've come to appreciate and treasure his creativity. 

As a photographer/ naturalist:

My 2013 Turtles of Franklin County calendar just arrived.

Turtles are the ideal subjects "because they don't move very fast."

Woodworker/ potential Etsy shop owner:

I saw an initial planter on Pinterest and said, Dad, please make me an H!

 

When the planter is full of cacti, more pics will follow.

I begin to trace my creative or artistic impulses, unrealized or inchoate as they may be (knitting, sewing, spray-painting-of-old-furniture aspirations) to Dad, who thinks there is little that can't be accomplished with $200 and one, maybe two trips to Lowe's.
